VISION
We have a clear vision of what we
believe God wants us to work towards as a Fellowship.
That's not to
say we know exactly how we are going to work out each bit...
God hasn't
finished with us yet. But we are excited about what we know so
far!
We see Bury Christian
Fellowship becoming the kind of church that:
* Reaches out to a needy world with a message of hope, healing and
salvation.
* Helps people fulfil their calling from God, and supports them by the
church's structures and meetings.
* Gives freedom to each person to contribute and participate in the
life of the church, in an atmosphere of openness and acceptance.
* Encourages each to take seriously one's responsibility to work for
one's own and others' growth in Christ.
MISSION
We see our mission in terms of
being people who are called by God to:
* Preach the gospel, both locally and overseas.
* Witness to our friends, neighbours and colleagues, in word and deed.
* Offer practical and material help to the poor and underprivileged,
including counsel, healing and deliverance.
In short our mission is to
demonstrate love for God His Church and the world that Jesus died to
save.
MEETINGS
Our meetings are not ends in
themselves but provide opportunities for:
* Praise and worship - people declaring the goodness and greatness of
God
* Supporting, encouraging and ministering to each other.
* Hearing God's heart, and being equipped to serve Him.
*Allowing the Holy Spirit free
reign, and exercising His gifts for the benefit of all.
CELL GROUPS
Our cellgroups are focal points
for our life and fellowship, where:
* Members who are committed to our common vision, pray and work
together to help each other grow spiritualy.
* We help and encourage one another to reach others with the
"Good News" of Jesus life death and resurrection.
Cells meet in ordinary homes,
schools, colleges, or places of work during the week.
Cell group members form the core of the Fellowship, and build lasting
friendships with one another.
CHILDREN
AND YOUNG PEOPLE
An important part of our vision
is to see our children and young people growing up to know God.
Brought up by parents in loving and Godly homes, appropriately helped
and supported by the Fellowship.
Sharing their faith with their friends and receiving gifts from the
Holy Spirit to equip them for service
and responsibility both in the Church and in the world.
LEADERSHIP
We believe that God will provide
us with able and committed leaders:
* An oversight team of elders, who lead, administer and care for the
Fellowship.
*Together with others who are
recognised as gifted leaders of particular aspects of the life of the
Fellowship.
RESOURCES
We trust that God will provide
the resources for us to do His work, such that:
* We have the premises needed to do the things he calls us to do.
* We are able to meet the needs of
those among us
* People give generously of their time, their prayers and their
money,
out of gratitude to God for his
faithfulness
